Mary Dimmock was the first child of David Dimmock & Mary Halsey born December 10th, 1837 & christened at Sandridge & christened January 7th, 1838 at Sandridge, Herts.
In 1841 Mary was living in Sandridge, Herts with her parents & little brother George.
In 1851 Mary was lodging in Luton, Bedfordshire at Park Street West & working as a bonnet sewer.
Mary married William Dell on March 22nd, 1860 at St Peter’s, St Albans, Herts. William was born July 24th, 1828 at Tittenhanger Green, Herts & christened September 16th, 1838 at Sandridge, the son of Mary & George Dell, a baker.
In 1871 William & Mary were living at Wicklow St, St Pancras, London where William was a police constable.
By 1881 they had moved to 157 Derby Buildings, St Pancras & William continued to work as a police constable.
William died, aged 49, in 1888 & was buried November 7th at St Stephen’s Herts. His address at that time was Athol Cottages, Colney, St., St Albans.
Mary could not be found in the 1891 census, but by 1901 widowed Mary was living at Park St, St Albans, Herts. She was now working as a straw hat sewer & had a boarder, Elizabeth Mundy, aged 90.
In 1911 Mary was still living at 64 Park St & she again had a lodger, Emma Goss, an 81 year old widow.
Mary died in April-June 1919, aged 82, her death being registered at St Albans.
