Denys Earnshaw was the eighth and last child of Frederick Earnshaw & Mary Emily Stainsby born April 13th, 1929 at 25 Leechmere Rd, Grangetown & christened May 6th, 1929 at St Aidan’s, Grangetown.

He left school at 14 to become an apprentice fitter, and was called up for
national service when he was 18 years old. He continued to live at home at
Leechmere Rd after his parents deaths in the 1950s, sharing the house with
sister Joan. It is thought that he emigrated to South Africa.
