Job married Ann Bryan on December 23rd, 1849 at Pinxton, Derbyshire. Ann was born c1829 in Nottinghamshire. IGI records not that Job was 24 years old & Ann was 20 at the time of marriage.

In 1851 Job & Ann were living at Pinxton Wharf with Job’s widowed father, William. Job was now a coal miner & he & Ann had a 5 month old son Thomas. Also with them at the time of the census were the children of Job’s deceased sister, Sarah Hardy.

As well as son Thomas (10) children at home were Emma (9), James (7), Mary (4), Richard (2) & William (1 month). On this & following censuses Job’s wife is given as Louisa, however no record could be found for the death of Ann or the remarriage of Job.

Job & Louisa were living at 97 Forest St, Sutton in Ashfield, Notts in 1871. Both Job & son James were cordwainers. Children Mary & Richard were still at home.

In 1881 Job & Louisa were living at 33 Festus St, Nottingham St Mary & Job & son Richard were described as book makers – however this probably was boot makers! They had a 15 year old servant Elizabeth Pratt.

Louisa died in Oct-December 1890, aged 61, the death being registered at Basford.

By 1891 widowed Job had moved to Brownin Terrace, Portland St, Arnold, Notts & was now described as a boot & shoe maker. With him was daughter-in-law Eliza Ellis (27) & 2 grandchildren Albert (5) & Nellie (5).
