Emily Fry was the eighth child of Elizabeth Brett & John Fry born June 6th, 1886 at Rusper, Sussex.
In 1891 Emily was living at Peters Farm, Rusper, Sussex with her parents & brothers & sisters.
By 1901 Emily, her 2 sisters Elizabeth & Alice, & her brother John were living at Soles Farm, Nuthurst, Horsham, Sussex with their widowed mother.
In 1911 Emily was living with her mother, Elizabeth, & brother John at Spronketts Farm, Bolney, Sussex. Living with them & working on the farm was Elizabeth's grandson, Thomas John Challen (14).
Emily married George Edmund Hudson in Oct-December 1913 at Christchurch, Hampshire. George was born September 18th, & christened November 1st, 1874 at St Mary’s Hartfield, Sussex, the son of John Hudson a farmer & Elizabeth Fry [f.7.3]. Elizabeth was the sister of Emily’s father John Fry, therefore Emily was marrying her cousin!
George Hudson had previously been married to Kate Esther Walter who had died in Oct-December 1912, aged 40. In 1911 George & Kate were living at Dowlands Farm, Burstow, Reigate, Surrey with George's widowed father, John Hudson. George & Kate appear not to have had any children. Acting as housekeeper for them all was George's sister, Alice Jane Hudson.
Emily, of 16 Douglas Road, Parkstone, Dorset, died December 28th, 1933 at Cornelia and East Dorset Hospital, Poole. Administration of her estate was granted January25th, 1934 to widowed George Edmund Hudson, fruiterer. Her effects were £138.19s
The 1939 register shows widowed George living at Longleat Allinton, Churchill Rd, Poole, Dorset & described as a fruiterer’s assistant. He was living with son John E Hudson, a gas water & electrical improver, & his wife Edna.
George, aged 69, died July-September 1943 at Poole, Dorset.
