Sarah Ann Jones Freeth was the second child of George Freeth & Ann Jones christened October 14th, 1855 at Smethwick, Staffs.
In 1861 Sarah was living with her parents, sister & brother at King St, Wednesbury, Staffs.
By 1871 the family were living at 2 Glad. Terr, Wednesbury where father George was a foreman at the railway. Sarah now had 4 brothers & 2 sisters.
In July-September 1877 Sarah married Thomas Dean, the marriage being registered at Kings Norton, Staffs. Thomas was born c1854 at Kidderminster, Worcs, the son of Jane & Thomas Dean, a labourer.
In 1881 Sarah & Thomas were living at 8 Dudley St, Wednesbury & Thomas was a labourer. They had 2 children – George Thomas (2) & Phoebe J (8 months). Also with living with them at the time of the census was Thomas’ widowed mother, Jane Dean (61) & his 64 year old aunt Ann Allen.
By 1891 Thomas & Sarah had moved to Runcorn, Northwich, Cheshire where they were living at 35 Cartwright St & Thomas was still a labourer. Children at home were George T, Ada A (5) & Ernest E (1).
By 1901 Sarah had died & widowed Thomas was living at 63 Peasley Cross Lane, St Helens, Lancs where he was a labourer at the paint works as was son George who was still living with him. Daughter Ada was still at home.
