John Leonard Jones Freeth was the seventh child of George Freeth & Ann Jones born July-September, 1869 at Wednesbury, Staffs.
In 1871 John & his parents, brothers & sisters were living at 2 Glad. Terr, Wednesbury where father George was a foreman at the railway.
In 1881 John (listed as Leonard in the census) was still at home at 45 High St, Smethwick, Staffs.
John continued to live at home & in 1891 was with his mother & father, a greengrocer, at 104 Raglan Rd, Smethwick. John was now a brass turner.
John married Charlotte Smith in Oct-December 1892 at Smethwick, Staffs. Charlotte was born c1870, the daughter of Sophia & William Smith, a gas fitter. In 1891 Charlotte was working as a rivet porter.
In 1901 John, now known as Leonard, & Charlotte were living at 11 Suffrage St, Smethwick where Leonard was still a brass turner. They had 2 children – Leonard (4) & Thomas (10 months).
