Job Freeth was the third child of Samuel Freeth & Sarah Round christened June 10th, 1832 at Smethwick, Staffs.
In 1841 Job & his parents & brother Samuel & sister Hannah were living at Nine Seasons, Smethwick.
Job continued to live at home at Nine Seasons & was there in 1851 with 2 sisters & 2 brothers. Job was working as a glass polisher.
Job married Caroline Burden in July-September 1858, the marriage being registered in Birmingham. Caroline was christened November 25th, 1821 at Winterbourne Dauntsey, Salisbury, Wilts, the daughter of Sarah & Thomas Burden.
In 1861 Job & Caroline were living at Rolfe St, Smethwick & Job was a glass packer.
By 1871 they had moved to Milton Place, Smethwick & Job was still employed as a packer.
By 1881 Job was described as an unemployed glass packer & he & Caroline were living at 47 Oldbury Rd, Smethwick.
Caroline died in Oct-December 1889, aged 68, the death being registered at Kings Norton.
In 1891 widowed Job was still at Oldbury Rd, now number 11, & was again working as a glass packer. With him was a niece Eliza Burden (32), the daughter of Caroline’s younger brother Isaac Burden & his wife Sarah. Eliza was described as a laundress.
Job was still at 11 Oldbury Rd in 1901 & at the age of 68 was still working as a glass packer. Niece Eliza Burden was still with him.
Job died in July-September 1908, at the age of 76, the death being registered at Kings Norton.
