Ada Eliza Horton was the fourth child of George Horton & Eliza Child born Jan-March, 1865 at Birmingham, Warks.
By 1871 Ada was living at 31 Constitution Hill, St George, Birminghamwith her parents. Ada had 2 older brothers.
Ada was still living at home in 1881 at 8 Villa Grove, Handsworth, Staffs. She was a pupil teacher at this time.
Ada married Nicholas Murren in July-September 1886, the marriage being registered at Birmingham. Nicholas was born c1850 in Ireland.
In 1891 Ada & Nicholas were living at 137 Camden St, Ladywood, Birmingham & Nicholas was a general porter & Ada was described as a jeweller burnisher. (Ada’s father George & her brothers all worked in the jewellery trade.)
Nicholas died in April-June 1899, aged 50, the death being registered at Birmingham.
In 1901 widowed Ada was living at All Saints, Birmingham where she was boarding with Clara & Samuel Keeling, an engraver. Ada was described as a press worker.
Ada was still boarding with the Keelings in 1911 at 3 The Shrubbery, New Spring St, Birmingham. Ada's occupation was now described as pressing military garments.
