Sarah Jane Pallister [p.1.6.5.3.1]
Sarah Jane Pallister was the first child of John Pallister & Sarah Thompson born at The Parsonage, Lanchester & christened December 13th, 1817 at Lanchester.
In 1841 Sarah was living at Hornsby (Ornsby) Hill, Lanchester with her parents & 8 brothers & sisters. Sarah was described as a dressmaker.
In Oct-December 1843 Sarah married John Hardy at Lanchester.
Sarah & John had a daughter, Sarah Jane, born in April 1844. Sadly Sarah died very soon after her daughter’s birth, on April 17th, 1844 & was buried at All Saints, Lanchester. She was just 27 years old.

In 1851 daughter Sarah Jane was living with her grandparents, John & Sarah Pallister, at Hornsby Hill, Lanchester. By 1861 Sarah Jane was working as a servant for John Henderson, a colliery agent, & his wife Mary, a confectioner. They were living at Framwellgate Bridge, Crossgate, Durham.
