Eliza Maria Stone was the first child of James Stone & Eliza Woolley born at Tipton & christened July 21st, 1822 at St Thomas, Dudley, Worcs.
Eliza married Jabez Morgan on April 12th, 1841 at Christ Church, West Bromwich. Jabez was born February 12th,1820 in Framilode, Gloucester & christened March 12th, 1820 at Wesleyan, Alkerton, Gloucester, the son of Thomas Morgan.
In 1851 Eliza & Jabez were living at Rose Cottages, Lark Hill, Kidderminster, Worcs & Jabez was a master millman at the tin forge. They had 3 children by this time – Miranda (9), Samuel (7) & James (6). They had a 16 year old servant.
At the time of the 1861 census Eliza was with her sister Harriet Hannah, now married to John Bowater, a pawn broker, & their 6 children. They were living at 50 Hill Top, West Bromwich. Also with them at this time was Eliza & Harriet’s sister Elizabeth who was an assistant in the pawn shop. They had a groom & a general servant. Jabez was still living at Lark Hill, Kidderminster & now described as a head millman in the tin works. With him were children Eliza (Miranda) (19), a teacher of music, & Samuel, an iron moulder in the foundry. They had a 12 year old general servant.
Eliza died in July-September 1869 in Kidderminster, Worcs.

In 1871 widower Jabez was still living at Lark Hill & continued to be a tin plate worker. Son Edwin J (14) was with him & they had a 25 year old servant. Later that year, in Oct-December, Jabez married Harriet Anne Burgess at Kidderminster. Harriet was christened January 24th, 1847 at St Thomas, Dudley, Staffs, the daughter of Elizabeth & Thomas Burgess.
Jabez & Harriet were to have 2 children – Helen Jane B born in 1873 & Thomas Grosvenor born in 1877.
Jabez died on July 21st, 1877 at Lark Hill, Kidderminster. His will was proved at Worcester by his widow Harriet Anne on August 14th, 1877. Jabez, who was described as a yeoman, had effects of under £450.
In 1881 widowed Harriet & her 2 children were visiting her step-daughter Eliza Miranda who was now married to John Killingbeck, a mechanical engineer, & their family.
By 1891 Harriet had become a lodging house keeper at Charnwood, Holdenhurst, Bournemouth, Hants. Both children were still living with her.
Daughter Helen married Frank Draycott Mash, a fruiter & shopkeeper, in April-June 1900 at Camberwell, London. At the time of the 1901 census Helen & Frank were living at Tooting Graveney, London & Helen had just given birth to a daughter.
Harriet had moved to Lambeth, London by 1901 & with her was a niece Margarett Burgess (34). There were 2 boarders & 2 visitors with them. By 1901 son Thomas had become a postal worker.
In 1911 Harriet was living at 72 Campbell Rd, Salisbury, Wilts. Living with her was son Thomas, a clerk for the GPO, & a 10 year old granddaughter, Dorothy Edith Mash. The census shows that they had a maid & that Harriet had had 3 children, only 2 of whom were living.
Harriet died in Salisbury, Wilts, aged 70 & was buried April 16th, 1916 in London Road Cemetery, Salisbury.
