Maria Webster was the seventh known child of John Webster & Elizabeth Compton Hearne born January 24th, 1813 at Burnham.
Maria married Thomas Henry Johnson in Jan-March 1838 at Eton, Bucks. Thomas was born January 7th 1816 at Uxbridge, Middlesex, son of Sarah & Thomas Johnson. He was known as "Gaiters" because he always wore brown leather leggings. An Essay in Uxbridge Library entitled "Peregrinations of a Kiddy"? described him as "A busy man, church warden for several years, and in other ways enterprising." (Ref Esther Byrt)
In 1841 Thomas & Maria were living at High St, Uxbridge where Thomas was a draper. They had 2 children – Thomas Webster (2) & Maria Elizabeth (10 months).
They were still living at the High St in 1851 & Thomas was a linen draper. The children at home were Annie Frances (8), Emily Jane (4) & John (2). Son Thomas was visiting his grandparents, Thomas & Sarah Johnson, at the time of the census who also lived at the High St, Uxbridge.
Maria & Thomas were still living at High St in 1861 & Thomas was a draper employing 1 man. At home were children Thomas, Maria & John. Daughter Emily was at school at Colham House, Hillingdon, Uxbridge.
At the time of the 1871 census Maria & Thomas were living at ‘Fairfield’, Harefield Rd, Hillingdon, a house that he had built & Thomas continued to be a draper. Daughter Emily was still at home.
Maria died in December 28th, 1872, aged 59, her death being recorded at Uxbridge.

By 1881 Thomas, aged 65, had remarried Elizabeth Newman aged 42, born at Brighton, Sussex. Thomas was now retired & he & Elizabeth were living at Harefield Rd, Hillingdon.
Thomas died in May 23rd 1885, aged 69, his death being registered at Uxbridge.
Elizabeth died on June 17th, 1889.
